Health Care

Canora is located within the Sunrise Health Region and features a hospital, nursing home, doctor's office, ambulance service, chiropractor, optometrist, home care and public health services and massage therapists.

Canora Hospital

Canora Hospital contains 16 acute-care beds, 10 long-term care beds and two respite beds. It also provides the following services: 24-hour emergency, consulting services, fluoroscopy, intensive care and cardiac observation, laboratory services, cardiac services, radiology, medicine and pediatrics, obstetrics, occupational therapy, out-patient services, pharmacy, visiting physiotherapy services and ultrasound.

Gateway Lodge

Gateway Lodge is a personal care home that provides long-term care services on a 24 hour basis. It contains 77 long-term care beds, one respite bed and offers an adult day care program.

The Lodge also serves as the base for the Canora Handi-Bus.

Canora is currently seeking the services of a dentist.

Veterinary services

Canora is currently seeking the services of a veterinarian.

Education

Students can attend kindergarten to Grade 4 at Canora Junior Elementary School and grades 5 to 12 at Canora Composite School. The schools are part of the Good Spirit School Division.

Three and four-year-old children may attend Canora Nursery School and those looking for advanced or specialized learning can access the variety of programs offered by the Canora branch of the Parkland Regional College.

The Parkland Regional Library has a branch located at Canora Composite School.

Canora Cemetery

Canora's cemetery is meticulously maintained by Town of Canora staff and includes Catholic, Orthodox, Russian and interdenominational sections. Plot and interment rates, burial and monument permits are available from the town office.
